If you’re currently planning your wedding and want it to feel intentional, personal, and actually memorable… you’re going to love this one 🤍
Jen & Drew’s March 28th wedding day was the perfect mix of meaningful moments, fun guest experiences, and thoughtful details that made the entire day feel like them.
And the best part? None of it felt overdone or overwhelming—just really well planned.
Let’s get into some of the standout moments (because yes… you can absolutely steal these 👀)
A Private First Look + Personal Vows (And Why I Loved This So Much)
Instead of saving everything for the ceremony, Jen & Drew chose to do a private first look with personal vows beforehand—and it was so special.
It was just:
The two of them
Their photographer capturing the moment
Their maid of honor and best man there as quiet support
No crowd. No pressure. Just a really intimate moment to connect before the day fully began.
Planner bestie tip: If you’re nervous about reading vows in front of everyone or want a more emotional, uninterrupted moment—this is such a beautiful option.
DIY Centerpieces… Elevated the Right Way
Jen & Drew DIY’d their centerpieces (which I LOVE for budget-friendly weddings), but they didn’t stop there.
They elevated their space by:
Adding ceiling drapery to transform the room
Using the groom's favorite artwork printed in Frames as their table numbers
Having their florist lay fresh greenery on the tables to soften everything
So instead of feeling overly DIY, the space felt:✨ Intentional✨ Layered✨ Elevated without overspending
For my planning brides: This is such a good example of where to mix DIY with professional touches for the best result.
Cocktail Hour “Sip & Solve” (Guest Experience = 10/10)
Okay this was one of my FAVORITE details.
Instead of a standard cocktail hour, Jen & Drew created a “Sip & Solve” experience—a large custom crossword puzzle all about:
Their relationship
Shared memories
Fun facts about them
They set out dry erase markers and let guests fill it in together.
And let me tell you… people were into it.
It gives guests something interactive to do
It sparks conversation between people who may not know each other
It makes your wedding feel memorable (not just another cocktail hour)
If you’re Googling “unique wedding cocktail hour ideas”—this is your sign.
A Mr. & Mrs. Thank You Speech (That Felt So Genuine)
Instead of only having speeches from others, Jen & Drew took a moment as a couple to give a thank you speech—and it was such a standout moment.
They intentionally thanked:
Their parents
Their maid of honor
Their best man
Their flower girl
It was personal, heartfelt, and made those closest to them feel so seen.
Planner perspective: These are the moments guests remember—the ones that feel real.
Sparkler Exit + Outfit Change (Yes to the Jacket Moment)
To end the night, they did a sparkler exit—which is always such a fun, high-energy sendoff.
But my favorite part? The bride changed into a bedazzled denim jacket for it.
It was: ✨ Fun✨ A little edgy✨ The perfect “end of the night” vibe
And it made their exit feel even more them.
What Made This Wedding So Special
It wasn’t just the details—it was how intentional everything felt.
Jen & Drew didn’t just plan a wedding… they created an experience:
For themselves
For their guests
And for the memories they’ll carry forever
And because everything was planned thoughtfully and supported behind the scenes… they got to actually be present in it.
Planner Takeaways (For My Brides in the Planning Stage)
If you take anything from this wedding, let it be this:
Create moments that feel personal—not just trendy
Think about your guest experience (it matters more than you think)
Mix DIY with elevated elements for the best balance
Give yourself space to be present in your day
