Some weddings are beautiful…And then some weddings just have this energy you can’t quite explain—you just feel it the entire day.

Jessi + Reggie’s May 1st wedding was exactly that 🤍

From emotional first looks to the most fun reception moments, their day was filled with intention, personality, and a level of joy that carried through every single part of it. Enjoy this special wedding day recap.

The Sweetest Start to the Day

One of the most special moments from the morning?

Jessi did her mom’s hair.

And not just in a casual way—but in a really intentional, full-circle moment:

“Mom, you always helped me get ready for special events… I want to help you get ready for this special moment for both of us.”

If you’re wondering if I cried… the answer is yes 😭

Planner bestie note: These quieter, meaningful moments before the day fully begins? They end up being some of the most memorable.

First Looks That Had Everyone Emotional

Jessi did a series of first looks—and each one somehow got more emotional than the last.

First with her brothers.

Then with her dad.

At one point, the entire bridal party were all heads back, looking to the ceiling, trying not to smear makeup because everyone was tearing up.

And then… her first look with Reggie.

The wedding party watched from a distance, giving them their space, but still getting to witness the moment.

And yes… he got emotional too 🤍

Why this worked so well:

  • They created multiple intentional moments

  • They gave themselves space to feel everything

  • & They involved the people closest to them in a meaningful way

A Vendor Team That Made Everything Feel Effortless

This was one of those days where the vendor team just clicked.

And I have to give a special shoutout to Sonia with White Border Photography—she was incredible.

Moments were captured so naturally, so beautifully, and with so much attention to what actually mattered.

And here’s something brides don’t always realize:

When you have a wedding coordinator, your photographer gets to fully focus on their art.

They’re not:

  • Tracking down timelines

  • Managing logistics

  • Handling outside distractions

They’re free to create.

And that shows in your photos.

Thoughtful Details That Guests Actually Experienced

Jessi + Reggie didn’t just focus on how their wedding looked—they focused on how it felt for their guests.

One of my favorite touches?

Wildflower seed packet favors placed at every seat

It was:

  • Meaningful

  • Interactive

  • Something guests could take home and actually use

Planner tip: The best favors are the ones that feel intentional—not just something picked last minute.

Speeches That Were Actually… So Good

We’ve all been to weddings where speeches feel a little all over the place.

That was NOT the case here.

The maid of honor and best man gave speeches that were:

  • Thoughtful

  • Personal

  • So clearly prepared with intention

And you could feel how much love was behind every word.

A Reception Moment I Will Never Forget

Okay… this one.

The father-daughter dance started traditionally… and then transitioned into a remix of Hey Ya.

And when the line hit:

🎶 “Shake it like a polaroid picture” 🎶

They pulled out Polaroid cameras and ran around the dance floor taking photos with guests.

I mean… COME ON.

It was:✨ Fun✨ Unexpected✨ Completely unforgettable

And now they have physical photos from that exact moment with their favorite people.

A Cake That Was a True Statement

We need a moment for the cake.

It was covered in blue florals and truly acted as a statement piece in the space.

Not just a dessert—part of the design, part of the experience.

Proof that even one detail done well can elevate the entire room.

What Made This Day So Special

Yes, the details were incredible.

Yes, the timeline flowed beautifully.

But what made Jessi + Reggie’s wedding stand out was the feeling behind it all.

They:

  • Created intentional moments

  • Prioritized the people they love

  • Trusted their vendor team

  • And allowed themselves to be fully present

And that’s what made everything feel so effortless.

What You Can Take From This Wedding

If you’re planning your own day, here’s what I want you to remember:

  • The most meaningful moments are often the simplest ones

  • A strong vendor team changes everything

  • Interactive elements make your wedding unforgettable

  • You deserve to actually experience your day—not manage it
